What is the resin used in pipe relining?

Well basically there are three types to choose from – epoxy, polyester and vinyl.

So how do they compare and what are the pros and cons for each.

Epoxy

This is one of the safest and eco friendly resins around with non-volatile compounds. This makes it safe house at home. It also doesn’t shrink as much as other resins which ensures the liner will stick tighter. It does however need more time to cure so the process takes longer.

Polyester

While this is the cheapest resin, it can contain harmful compounds. It’s recommended you check with the contractor to ensure the product is handled correctly and safely. Unlike epoxy it can be cured quickly so the job can be done faster.
